The seach for little patches of paradise

As a natural-born wanderlust, I try to get away from the tiny tropical island where I live and expose myself to the big world out there several times a year. Inevitably, I need temporary shelters to rest my head and my overly-excited soul from such escapades.

I am not the kind of backpacker who'd stay at 5 dollars a night, 12 pax mixed dorm – that's too hardcore for me. After all, shouldn't traveling be an enjoyment? Neither am I the extravagant vacationer who only stay in big 5 star chain resorts – that's too safe and unadventurous, not to mention the damage it'll do to my wallet. For every trip, I'll comb through the internet and travel guides to suss out little patches of paradise that are the perfect pied-à-terre – accommodations with character and provide a little luxury without costing me an arm and a leg.

Years of traveling had landed me in many different types of lodgings, some comfortable and memorable, some so horrid that it makes me want to pack my luggage or backpack and go home at that very instance. The horrid ones, I've permanently erased from my memory. As for the memorable stays, I would like to share them on this blog.
